When the media went to town over the preponement of the OnePlus 6T launch event slated for October 30 in New York, the reason given was that an Apple event is to be held the same day. It was rumored then that Apple plans to launch a few devices but not much details were forthcoming. It has now emerged that these could be 2 models of iMacs and one iPad.
New Model Numbers Found on EEC Website
The information now available has come out of the EEC Certification for these models carried on the site. Though the listing has several models, most of them have already been released but the three new models are A1993, A2115, A2116. It is mentioned on the certificate that all three are being run on the Mac OS version 10.14. Though these may all be iMacs, one cannot rule out the possibility that one of them, A1993 could turn out to be an iPad. One may have to wait for more details to be revealed officially by Apple or other reliable sources, but there is the outside chance that the code A1993 may be the iPad Pro 2018.
Some Known Specifications
One of the models to be revealed on October 30 must be the MacBook with a 13-inch display and the successor to MacBook Air. Retina display and Touch ID are expected to be features the new MacBook will sport. Apple has been expressing its intentions to release lower-priced devices across the different product segments, and the MacBook is expected to be one such product. A new Intel Chipset is likely to be the CPU fitted on the new MacBook. Pricing will be one area everyone would be watching with enormous interest since there are even predictions that instead of adding a premium, the new MacBook could be priced lower than the older MacBook Air models. That would be a big game-changer.
The other device could be a smaller MacBook sporting a 12-inch display. For good measure, you can expect a MacMini too in the launch event on Tuesday next. In the iPad category, you may see the iPad Pro model in a couple of variants. The only bit of information available now is that the iPads could come with the A12X chipset. You may see the Face ID feature introduced as well.
