Apple Is Secretly Developing A Virtual Reality Device

Apple reportedly has formed a secret team for augmented reality and virtual reality. The news previously said that a top researcher in the fields of virtual reality and augmented reality, named Dough Bowman has been hired by Apple.

The secret team is going to make and develop a prototype device to become a rival of the current virtual reality and holographic computing devices. The companies like Facebook and HTC has created virtual reality devices, named Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The holographic computing device has been developed by Microsoft through Hololens.

Virtual reality is a new kind of technology, which is interesting to be developed, as the CEO of Apple said,

“It is really cool and has some interesting applications,” in the Q & A session of Apple’s recent earnings call.

Apple has some patents related to both technologies, virtual reality and augmented reality fields. However, not all of their inventions will be adopted by a new product. The last time, Apple has acquired Flyby, an augmented reality start-up that lets mobile devices ‘see’ the world around them. Up to now, there is no further information regarding hardware and software.
