Last year, Apple came out with three distinctive iPhones for the first time. iPhone the XS and the iPhone XS Max were the premium devices and worthy upgrade of iPhone X. At the same time, Apple also showcased an affordable iPhone from the X series, the iPhone XR. The iPhone XR showed the world that a robust, almost premium handset could sport a better battery life. This year, in the September event, the tech giant will unveil three new iPhones. One of the iPhones will be the successor of iPhone XR, the second-generation iPhone XR 2.
According to online sources, the forthcoming iPhone XR 2 might have a massive 3110 mAh battery. At the beginning of 2019’s second quarter, speculations suggested that Apple might not be able to bring new changes in terms of hardware. So, the experts were predicting the new and upgraded iOS might be the selling point of the 2019 iPhones. But, the recent report throws all the other speculations out in the water.
By the looks of it, the 2019 versions of the iPhones are not going to introduce radical innovation. The new move might also be the reason because when it comes to draining of the battery, Apple iPhone is at the top. Hence, betting on a new battery might entice the buyers to get their hands on the forthcoming XR 2.
Amperex will curate batteries for the new iPhone XR 2
Apple has given Amperex ATL the contract to manufacture batteries for the next-generation Apple iPhones. ATL came into prominence after Samsung gave the Chinese company a contract to make batteries following the aftermath of the exploding Galaxy Note 7.
Hence, the forthcoming iPhone XR 2 will sport a robust battery which would be 5% powerful and more significant than its predecessor. Apple iPhone XR packs a 2,942 mAh battery whereas the forthcoming iPhone XR 2 will sport a 3,110 mAh. It might not look like a big difference on paper, but as the iPhones are the heavily optimized devices, the battery will provide enough juice to last more than a day with moderate to heavy use.
The speculations also suggest that the second-gen Apple A-13 7nm SoC will power Apple iPhone XR 2. The iPhone XR provides a video playback of 15 hours. So, it is expected that the new bump in the battery will give a better battery back-up to the iPhone XR 2.
