Apple iPad Pro 2 to be launched at WWDC

It’s still a month to go until the annual event held by Apple, the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference), and there are already rumors about the upcoming products and releases. We already know that Apple will not bring us the anniversary edition of the iPhone at the conference I June, but most likely they will bring a refresh to their tablet series.

What Can We Expect

Donklephant has recently reported that Apple will be announcing the second generation of the iPad Pro, together with three new iPad devices. More precisely, we should expect a 12.9 inches iPad Pro 2, two iPads in 10.5 and 10-inches sizes, plus an iPad Mini 5 with a 9.7 inches display.

What’s interesting about this is that the previous update to the iPad Mini series was announced back in 2015, and ever since then fans have been expecting the iPad Mini 5. However, it seems that there is a rebranding plan, according to which Apple will be simply calling the device iPad Mini. Similarly, the company is apparently also moving away from the Air brand.

Changes to Configurations

Quite recently, the company released a new 9.7 inches iPad in 2017, which is supposed to replace the iPad Air 2. The current lineup for the iPAd inclues a 12.9 inches iPAd Pro, a 9.7 inches iPad and iPad Pro, plus the iPad Mini 4. Apple should be using the new A10X processor together with the latest version of the iOS, namely iOS 11. Despite this, the other mini devices and the iPad models will run the A9X chipset.

According to the rumors, the 10.5 inches iPad will be the main attraction of the event. People expect the device to have a display with little bezel. Moreover, it will be the first not to have an actual home button.
