The iPhone 14 series, which happens to be the upcoming flagship lineup by Apple, has been one of the hottest topics of discussion in the tech industry for a while. Though Apple has not spoken about this series openly, there has been no dearth of rumors and speculations around it.

The display screen of this upcoming smartphone series has been widely discussed in the recent past. There is a strong possibility of Apple ditching the large-sized notch and opting for a punch-hole design. Some of the recent rumors have been about the quality of the panels and the companies that will be supplying them.

As per Ross Young, who serves as the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), the display panels will be exclusively manufactured and supplied by one company. In his statement, Young had stated that one of the Pro models, which will be released in 2022, will feature the display panel supplied by this particular company.

Young has made these claims through the microblogging site Twitter. A couple of days ago, he shared a poll on his Twitter account through which he posed a question to his followers. He asked them which iPhone model will feature an OLED screen supplied by Samsung, a company that happens to be one of its biggest rivals of Apple.

Young had shared four options in his poll. The four smartphones listed on the poll were iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The fourth option received the maximum number of votes, thereby indicating that most people on Twitter were of the opinion that the iPhone 14 Pro Max would be the first smartphone from Apple to get an OLED panel from Samsung this season.

In the same thread, Young responded to his followers by stating that majority of them were wrong as iPhone 14 Pro is the device that will exclusively feature OLED panels by Samsung. He further stated that the other models will have panels manufactured by mixed suppliers, and not just by Samsung. According to him, LG Display and BOE could be the other companies supplying OLED panels to Apple.

Since Apple doesn’t have the requisite experience in manufacturing LTPO panels on a large scale, it is getting them outsourced. There have been reports about Samsung exclusively manufacturing and providing 6.1-inch LTPO OLED panels for iPhone 14 Pro. From what one has heard so far, an equal number of OLED panels will be supplied by Samsung Display and LG Display for the iPhone 14 Pro. Another website has reported that 20-25% panels for the iPhone 14 will be provided by BOE. Both LG and Samsung will supply panels for the iPhone 14 Max.
