Apple’s newest operating system comes with so many awesome features, but one that stands out is Augmented reality engine (ARKit). Developers love the new ARKit platform and now they are showing off the apps that will be available in the App Store after the launch of iOS 11.
One of the ARKit apps comes from the furniture giant Ikea. The augmented reality app is called IKEA Place.
Many of those who like Ikea furniture will find the app super useful. You’ll be able to access the IKEA catalog on your iOS device and then see how will the item you like and planning to buy fits your space.
If you are planning to redesign your living room, for example, maybe you should wait until the release of iOS 11. Then make sure to download IKEA Place to your device and see how the room looks with the IKEA items.
More than 2000 items will be available at launch, TechCrunch Reports.
Of course, this is just one of many ARKit apps. If you love desserts, you will love Food Network’s ARKit app. This app will allow you to create digital desserts, and then get the recipe to make a dessert in real life. Pretty cool, right?
Let’s not forget the games. There will be many gaming ARKit apps, and you can see a new game called Arise from Climax Studios. Fan of The Walking Dead and zombies in general? Then you will love The Walking Dead: Our World.
Apple has ARKit, and Google has just launched ARCore. Google has shared an ARCore introduction video in a blog post. You can watch it below.
Will it be able to compete with Apple’s ARKit? We’ll see.
