Amazon is opening a grocery store – Amazon Go, the store with no cash registers and no lines. Amazon Go will offer a new kind of experience. The customers will use Amazon Go app to enter the grocery store, choose and take the products they want and walk out of the store. The purchased products are automatically billed to the customers’ Amazon accounts.

“We created the world’s most advanced shopping technology so you never have to wait in line.”, says the company on its website. “With our Just Walk Out Shopping experience, simply use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, take the products you want, and go! No lines, no checkout. (No, seriously.).”
The 1,800-square-foot store is located at 2131 7th Ave. in Seattle. According to company’s website, Amazon Go will offer grocery essentials and home-cooked meals as there will be chef-designed Amazon Meal Kits. At the moment, the store is only available to Amazon employees so they are the only ones who can use it for now. Amazon expects the grocery store to be open to the public in 2017.
“Our Just Walk Out technology automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you’re done shopping, you can just leave the store.”, the company says in the statement. “Shortly after, we’ll charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt.”
Once the store opens its doors to the public, you will need only a few things to get started. You will need the Amazon account, a smartphone, and the Amazon Go app. When you enter the store, do the shopping as always. Browse the items, and take the products you want. Done? Just walk out of the store – no cash registers and no lines.
