Today, Pinterest announced its plans to experiment with integrating Shuffles collage content into Pinterest, beginning with shopping. Shuffles is Pinterest’s collage-making app which was launched in November 2022. The app is currently available only on iOS in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Users of Shuffles create collages using Pinterest’s own photo library or by taking pictures of objects they want to include with their iPhone’s camera.

With this integration, Shuffles will now have all the shopping capabilities of regular pins. Users will be able to tap individual cutouts used in collages, and view the brand, price, and other product metadata along with similar products to shop. According to a blog post by the company, Shuffles bring an interactive and inspirational experience to product exploration. Gen-Z curates fresh, relevant content alongside their peers, making for a trendy, shoppable marketplace. The high-density nature of Shuffles allows consumers to dig deeper and connect to other Shuffles that include the same Pins.

The social media platform is likely to retain users on the standalone Shuffles app by bringing shopping capabilities to it. Pinterest is also exploring a new feature for advertisers called “Pinterest Premiere Spotlight” which prominently showcases a brand on search. The company states that this feature is designed to give advertisers a new way to reach users on Pinterest. It will offer additional ways in the coming months to help brands connect with shoppers.

Pinterest shared some new statistics about its Catalogs offering, which allows brands to upload their full catalog to the platform and turn their products into dynamic Product Pins. The company reported a 66% increase in retailers setting up shop by uploading or integrating their digital catalogs on its platform, along with 70% growth in active shopping feeds year over year globally.

Pinterest has over 450 million monthly active users worldwide, according to the company's earnings release. Earlier, the platform announced that it wanted to make every pin shoppable on the app, including videos.
