Taiwanese component suppliers have revealed that going by the orders they have received from Apple Inc, they expect the company to release the Generation V iPad Mini within the first 2 quarters of the year 2019. The two vendors in question are General Interface Solutions and TPK Holding. They supply touch solutions for the iPad Mini. There are possibly other vendors, from Mainland China as well. Apple splits the order between these vendors. There is no doubt that the iPad Mini is due for a makeover.
A New 2019 iPad Predicted
According to online reports, the Cupertino hardware cum software major has plans for the iPad Mini and in addition, the company could come up with a new iPad, version 2019. On the iPad Mini, there are very few further details available on the changes being proposed as far as the design etc. are concerned.
On the iPad 2019, however, there has been some speculation that Apple may change its display size to 10 inches. The debate regarding the bezels and the type of display to be finally chosen too occupies the social media and other online forums constantly. Apple is known to not disclose these details until it feels it is ready to share them with the public. One may soon find an official blog post after some time from one of Apple’s official pages. Until then, it is better to avoid too much speculation.
But on the iPad Mini, there appears to be some consensus among the various commentators that the new device will have a display and processor which will be aimed at bringing the overall cost of production of the device and therefore its price to the customers. It also appears the debate on whether the Face ID feature found on the higher end devices such as the iPad Pro or the smartphone models will be incorporated in the iPad Mini is put to rest since that is another area of cost increase.
The next question would be when would Apple make the announcements and release the devices to the market. That may take some time on present indications.
