Thanks to state of the art camera technology now being widely available on our beloved smartphones, anyone can take amazing photos that would make even a good photographer jealous. Apple’s iPhones are known for having good cameras built into them, so if you’re an iPhone owner you can potentially become a part-time photographer too! Here are five tips that will help you take amazing photos with your iPhone that will leave everyone gasping for air when you post them on Instagram or Facebook!
- Reduce brightness for Sun and Moon photos
Did you ever wonder how people take those amazing sunset or sunrise photos, or even photos of the moon directly? Well, if you lower the brightness on your iPhone camera, you can too!
- Position your subject within eight feet of the camera
If you want a nice depth of field when taking a photo of a loved one, then ask them to stand back about eight feet. But not more, never more.
- Never exceed a distance of 10 cm for close-ups
Close-ups can make for amazing photos because of the details they offer. In order to take a good one, position your camera at a maximum of 10 cm away from the subject.
- Use your headphone volume button as a shutter
Did you know that you don’t always have to press the round button on your camera’s screen in order to take a photo? You can just use your volume buttons. This will also stop your hand from shaking!
- Use HDR for backlit subjects
A nice contre-jour photo can express so much. But it’s preferable that your subject doesn’t appear pitch black due to the light coming from the back. In order to avoid this, turn on HDR on your iPhone’s camera.
