Google I/O developer’s conference is right here and when it comes, the company has a bunch of new hardware to announce. According to a leak on Twitter a couple of months ago, we are supposed to see the Pixel Watch being revealed in this event.
When it does, probably these four features are expected to make it a crowd favorite and might even revive the world of smartwatches for Android devices.
1. Easy to change straps
The Pixel Watch or any smartwatch for that matter is a fashion accessory first and foremost. Going by the leaks, it looks like Google will launch a watch with magnet straps that you can easily swap on the go. With a large collection of straps, it will be easy to use and also attract the younger crowd.
2. Seamless Android wear
Android Wear’s latest version is expected to debut on the watch which will be the pure vanilla version and will help push the OS into a completely new segment. Nexus and Pixel phones were on the top of vanilla Android experience but there was no watch. This should fill up the gap in an appropriate manner.
3. Fitness features
The watch will have a bunch of fitness features including sleep tracking, calorie management and may even include a heart rate sensor as Apple did. It will convince the average buyer to go for it especially if the pricing is done right.
4. Always On
This is a feature that will finally turn all watches into conventional watch if the battery is powerful enough to handle the always-on feature. Pixel Watch might set a new benchmark for all other devices if the Google team manages to make this happen with their newest product.
Apart from these, Google is expected to allow all Android developers to create some useful and fun apps for the Pixel Watch which will encourage users to make use of the device. After all, the purpose of a 4G LTE device is to make it easier to use apps without having to rely on a smartphone all the time.
Based on the pricing, design and the practical purpose of using it, it might be a great launch especially if Google would promote and support the product better in the coming months.
