16-inch MacBook Pro with a larger screen may debut alongside iPhone 11 this September

The holiday season may introduce more than just three new iPhones to the Apple family. The highly rumored Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro is likely up for launch in September. A rumored cut down on the bezel size will present Apple users with larger screen size. Priced higher than the existing 15-inch version, the LCD enabled 16-inch MacBook Pro is likely to carry the same bodywork as its predecessor.

16-inch MacBook Pro to carry similar features as in the 15-inch variant

The bezel dimensions of the 15-inch MacBook Pro will be tapered down in the 16-inch variant allowing for a larger screen in the latter. The slightly larger screen will likely carry a different CNC to facilitate the change in the size. The basic framework of the 15-inch MacBook Pro will be mimicked in the 16-inch variant, along with its Unibody Aluminum alloy design.

16-inch MacBook Pro

Rumor has it that the 16-inch MacBook will feature an LG LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) display with its resolution measuring to 3,072 X 1,920. The existing 15-inch OLED model carried a slightly lower screen resolution of 2,880 X 1,800. Apple is also expected to price the upcoming model a little higher than the existing one. Since the current 15-inch model is being manufactured by Quanta, the same firm is expected to produce the upcoming device too.

Apple is also expected to work on a replacement for the highly criticized Butterfly keyboard in its upcoming 16-inch variant. The upcoming MacBook Pro might carry a scissor key design instead. Adding a physical Escape key will complete the keyboard and feature as a good selling point for buyers.

Launch period debate

According to Digitimes, the 16-inch MacBook Pro will likely debut in September along with the ‘iPhone 11’ series. But if patterns created by Apple launches are to be bought, the new MacBook Pro may see an October release instead of a September launch. Apple launched its iPhone XR, XS, and Apple Watch Series 4 in September 2018 and pushed the debut of the iPad Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini to October. Going by this, it can be assumed that Apple will likely push its MacBook Pro’s launch to October too.

The rumor mill also has it that Apple may debut the refreshed iPad Pro and the upcoming iPad lines along with the 16-inch MacBook Pro in October.
